We proudly announce that Ohm Hareesh Kundurthy from the Santander Bank will give the keynote talk of the 38th FRUCT conference: Topic: Ethical AI in Database Systems: Governance Architecture for Financial Institutions

Abstract: AI is transforming financial services, but its deployment inside database and reporting systems comes with hidden risks: biased models influencing credit decisions, opaque outputs that regulators can’t trace, and data drift that silently undermines capital reporting. In this talk, he will share a practical governance architecture designed specifically for financial institutions to make AI not just powerful but trustworthy. Drawing on real-world implementations, he will walk through how model registries, policy enforcement engines, and responsible AI audits can be embedded directly into data platforms. He will explore use cases in which fairness, explainability, and automated drift monitoring turned compliance into a capability.

Ohm Kundurthy is a strategic data architect with over 18 years of experience designing and leading enterprise data platforms across regulatory compliance, credit and market risk, capital adequacy, liquidity, and financial reporting in the global banking sector. Currently working as Director, Application development at Santander Bank. His expertise lies in modernizing legacy ecosystems, leading cloud transformations, and architecting scalable solutions. He brings a rare blend of deep technical architecture, regulatory domain fluency, and leadership experience, having delivered large-scale programs across global banks and FinTechs. He is passionate about simplifying complexity, aligning architecture to business outcomes, and unlocking strategic insights through next-generation data platforms.
